Cluck cluck!! Here is an update!

Here is a little update from our friends over at Hens in Jax:

As of 11/5/13 - Land Use and Zoning Committee - 6 in favor, 1 opposed.  Accepted the conditions of the Planning Commission below AND included the following:

1. (Planning Commission recommendation) Implement a nominal permit process that would allow for consent (on complaint only) for a notified meeting with code enforcement.

2. (Planning Commission recommendation) Requirement of a 5 ft setback from the property line for any backyard coops.

3. (Planning Commission recommendation) Mr Huxford actually mentioned these zoning categories were inadvertently left out and should be included in the ordinance - RLD100A and RLD80.

4. The Land Use and Zoning Committee decided on a $25 permitting fee for #1 referenced above.

5. LUZ Committee termed this a 'pilot' that will last for 2 years. In 2 years, this will expire unless Council decides to extend it.

6. There will be a limit of 300 permits allowed on a first come, first served basis.  At this point, it's not clear what will happen if all those permits are taken.

Please feel free to participate in the City Council Open Meeting
on November 12th at 5pm!

More information regarding the meeting is posted on the Facebook page and please spread (cluck) the word!
