Upcoming Gardening Classes - Duval County Extension Office

In the next few months there are a lot of gardening class offerings from the Duval County Extension Office. You can click here to see a more complete list of the classes they have coming for January and February. Here are the details for the garden specific classes:

Upcoming Classes  Being Offered by Duval County Extension Office

Title: Start Your Own Vegetables from Seed
Date: Saturday, January 19th
Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm
 Location:  Duval County Extension Office, 1010 N McDuff Ave. 
Class Details: Learn principals in germinating seeds & take home a planted tray. Cost is $15.  Pre-registration & payment required. 

Title: Preparing the Spring Garden
Date: Tuesday, January 29th
Time:  6:00pm to 8:00pm
Location: Highlands Library, 1826 Dunn Ave.
Class Details: This free program will feature seed propagation, how to use seed tape, soil testing, planting and pruning for spring. Attendees will make seed tapes to take home.

Title: Tough Gardening Chores Made Simple 
Date: Wednesday, February 6th
Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Mandarin Library 12125 San Jose Blvd.
Class Details: It’s the time of year to do tough stuff in the yard. Learn Florida-Friendly tips on irrigation, fertilizers, mulch, and weed control. Call Becky at 255-7450 to pre-register for this free program.
Saturday, February 9th -  Growing & Eating Seasonally, 9AM - NOON  - Food sampling using seasonal   produce. Learn to grow warm season vegetables. Cost:$10. Pre-registration required.
