Donations Requested: Biltmore Elementary School Garden

The school garden under construction at Biltmore Elementary School is asking for donations of lumber and irrigation supplies and volunteers. This Northwest Jacksonville neighborhood school is tackling healthy eating and nutrition inside and outside the classroom with their school garden program.

Plans for the Biltmore Elementary School Garden program include a Junior Master Gardener program for the students.

If you have implemented a Farms to School program on your campus, your input as mentor would be invaluable as Biltmore endeavors to implement a program to increase their students’ access to healthy foods and eating habits. Over 90% of the students at Biltmore Elementary qualify for free or reduced lunch.
