Plant Sale & Garden Bazaar

The Argyle Area Community Garden will be hosting a city wide Plant Sale & Garden Bazaar on October 15th from 8:30am to 3:00 pm.

From their Meetup Site: "Everything you need for Fall garden planting and more!
We'll have a good old-fashioned rummage sale with interesting items and treasures. There will be booths stocked with delicious baked goods, food in glass jars, and refreshments like iced mint tea and coffee. Plants for sale for the garden and landscape, with a potting shed to put them in the lovely pot you found at the bazaar. There will be vendors with honey, books, garden attire and more!"

Area community gardens are invited to come and set up a booth. They are asking for a $10.00 donation to the garden from vendors who would like a 10x10 area to show their goods. The layout is around the garden office with frontage on Collins Road, which runs between Blanding Blvd. & Ricker Rd. in the Argyle/OrangePark/Oakleaf area of west Jax.

We believe the Argyle Plant Sale & Garden Bazaar will be an even bigger success than the Jacksonville Seed Swap & Community Garden Expo held in March 2011.  Unlike the Expo, we can SELL goods at the Bazaar raising critical funds for our gardens.  I hope you paid attention when I said to plant an extra tray back in June. If you did, you should have some plant starts that could be sold to raise funds at the Bazaar.  Call (904)527-1950 with any questions regarding the Bazaar and what you can and cannot sell.

So get together with your fellow gardeners and plan on attending.  Even if you do not plan to sell items, please do attend and set up a booth so that you can do some community outreach and talk to the public about your garden and community gardening in general. This is a great opportunity for area community gardens to meet and greet each other. Don't miss out - we sure won't!   Be sure to come by the Friends of Northeast Florida Community Gardens tent and say hello!
