Organizing Groups

Definition

Organizing Groups fall into one or both categories:

Garden Planning Committees:  An Organizing Group can be a group of people who are in the planning stages of creating a community garden but have not found a physical location for the garden. This type of Organizing Group will generally become the basis of the leadership of the community garden which it has built. Once a physical location has been decided, the "Organizing Group" is upgraded to a "Community Garden" by completing the following registration form: Add our Community Garden

Community Partners:  An Organizing Group can be an organization that works to create, assist, advise, fund, or otherwise enable community gardens to begin, enhance, or extend their programs or efforts. This type of Organizing Group will generally not be continually or directly involved in the leadership of the community garden and work on various community garden projects.
